BILL TOONE
Conservation Biologist & Executive Director

Bill Toone is Executive Director of ECOLIFE FOUNDATION. He is a conservation biologist with over 30 years of global field experience, where his work for the San Diego Zoo's Center for Reproduction of Endangered Species (CRES) has placed him on the front lines of conservation, beginning with the California Condor Recovery Program.
Successes with condors launched Bill into a dual career as international conservation biologist and spokesperson for conservation issues. A veteran of remote rainforest studies and remarkable cultural meetings, Bill makes frequent media appearances, and has been featured in numerous PBS documentaries including The Real Jurassic Park. Through years of work and exposure to people and challenges all over the world, Bill has developed an important contemporary perspective on conservation and the human condition.

Alfonso has nearly twenty years experience in the environment and development field, specializing in Environmental Administration in Developing Countries. He is experienced in management of protected areas, sustainable development in buffer zones, environmental impact of hydrocarbon exploration projects, fund raising and development issues at community level. Work experience in government, NGOs, multilateral organizations, and participated in several bilateral cooperation efforts in the Central-America region.

CHRISTINE ANDERSEN

Christine is an education coordinator with experience in action-based outreach programs, designing educational curriculum, and training diverse audiences in conservation education topics. She has worked with the Zoological Society of San Diego, coordinating the development, implementation and evaluation of conservation education projects for various audiences, in support of the organizations renowned worldwide field conservation projects in over 40 countries. She has extensive experience studying, traveling and working throughout Latin America, specifically in the Caribbean, Costa Rica and Paraguay.

Outreach Project Coordinator
Lee is an international conservation education consultant. He has planned and coordinated programs with partner institutions and agencies in the U.S., Latin America, Pacific Rim, and Caribbean. Lee has designed and led workshops that increase local capacity to protect natural resources in places such as the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve, Mexico; Turks and Caicos Islands; and Chaco ecosystem, Paraguay.

Photographer
Roy is an experienced photographer who has accompanied ECOLIFE FOUNDATION expeditions to remote and exotic parts of the world. His amazing photographs appear throughout this site. He is a founding member of the International League of Conservation Photographers (ILCP), and specializes in conservation research projects on endangered species. His photos appear regularly in National Geographic Magazine.

Rick is a media specialist experienced in graphic design, web design, audio and video production. Much of his previous work has been with education research scientists at Educational Testing Service, in Princeton, N.J. He has canoed, backpacked, rock climbed and hiked throughout the US and UK, and in 1990 he bicycled from Yorktown, VA to San Diego, CA. Together with his wife Tricia, he wrote: A Perfect Place To Live (Superfund)

Tricia is a fine artist experienced in drawing, painting, ceramics, murals, and sculpture. Tricia is active in conservation awareness and river clean-up in central New Jersey, and co-founded Monmouth Women's Paddling Club for women of all ages and abilities. Tricia has kayaked, canoed, backpacked, and motorcycled throughout the US. Together with her husband Rick, she wrote: A Perfect Place To Live (Superfund)
